The study of the dynamics and control of chemical engineering processes has developed over the past decade into a basic segment of a chemical engineer's education. The cause of this rapid development was the realization that process dynamic analysis and basic process-control theory are very useful parts of the practicing engineer's nag of techniques for solving practical problems. The tools that have made all this possible are analog and digital computers.
