Cristallisation -- Applications industriellesIndex. décimale : 66.065.5 Cristallisation par concentration. Cristallisoirs. Recristallisation. Résumé : Crystallization is an important separation and purification process used in industries ranging from bulk commodity chemicals to specialty chemicals and pharmaceuticals. In recent years, a number of environmental applications have also come to rely on crystallization in waste treatment and recycling processes. The authors provide an introduction to the field of newcomers and a reference to those involved in the various aspects of industrial crystallization. It is a complete volume covering all aspects of industrial crystallization, including material related to both fundamentals and applications. This new edition presents detailed material on crystallization of biomolecules, precipitation, impurity-crystal interactions, solubility, and design. Note de contenu : Summary :
1. Solutions and solution properties.
2. Crystals, crystal growth, and nucleation.
3. The influence of impurities and solvents on crystallization * Analysis and measurement of crystallization utilizing the population balance.
4. Crystallizer selection and design.
5. Precipitation processes.
6. Melt crystallization.
7. Crystallizer mixing:understanding and modelingcrystallizer mixing and suspension flow.
8. Control of crystallization processes.
9. Batch crystallization.

Titre : The kinetics of industrial crystallization Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Jaroslav Nyvlt, Auteur ; Otakar Sohnel, Auteur ; Marie Matuchova, Auteur ; Miroslav Broul, Auteur Editeur : Amsterdam : Elsevier Année de publication : 1985 Collection : Chemical engineering monographs num. 19 Importance : 250 p. Présentation : ill. Format : 25 cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-444-99610-7 Note générale : Bibliogr. p. 327-350. Index Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Cristallisation Index. décimale : 66.065.5 Cristallisation par concentration. Cristallisoirs. Recristallisation. Résumé : Cristallization is one of the basic processes in the final treatment of products in the chemical industry. Although the number of papers on cristallization is rapidly increasing, it is not possible even today to state that the problems involved in thie operation are unambiguously solved. Papers published on the kinetics of cristallization are scattered throughout the litterature. In this book the authos have attempted to collect all the important information they feel is basic to the description of the kinetics of industrial cristallization. Emphasing its importance, an attempt is made to describe secondary nucleation in chemical engineering terms for the design of cristallizers. The evaluation of model experiments as the most important source of kinetic data is dealt with in particular detail. The other chapters (driving force on cristallization, the metastable zone of solution, the theories of crystal growth, the kinetics of precipitation, other processes affecting the particle size distribution) should help to explain the individual laws controlling the process. In this way, the book summarizes present knowledge of the kinetics of cristallization processes which is of basic importance for the design of industrial equipment. Note de contenu : Summary:
1. Introduction
2. The driving force of cristallization
3. Nucleation
4. Crystal growth
5. Evaluation of the kinetics of cristallization from model experiments
6. The kinetic of precipitation
7. Other processes affecting the particle size distribution
