Résumé : |
This book give broad average of recent developments; it should meet the present need. It is designed as a textbook for both undergraduate and graduate students and also as a compendium for practicing engineers. Emphasis is given to the qualities of " teachability" and "practibility" and attemps were made in presenting the material to bridge the gap which is generally recognized to exist between the theory and the practice. In order to achieve thses objectives, the use of advanced mathamatics is deliberately avoided as much as possible, and the explanation of hydraulics. |
Note de contenu : |
Sommaire :
1 - Open-channel and its classifications
2 - Open channels ans their properties
3 - Energy and momentum principles
4 - Critical flow : its computation and applications
5 - Development of uniform flow and its formulas
6 - Computations of uniform flow
7 - Design of channels for uniform flow
8 - Theoretical concepts of boundary layer, surface roughness, distribution, and instability of uniform flow...
