It is intended for graduate courses on related topics, e.g. Computer Vision, 3-D Computer Vision, Graphics, Artificial Intelligence, etc. The book is mainly based on my lecture notes for several undergraduate and graduate classes I have offered over the past several years, while a number of topics stem from my research publications co-authored with my students. This book takes into account the needs of learners with various professional backgrounds, as well as those of self-learners. Furthermore, it can be used as a reference guide for practitioners and professionals in related fields. To aid in comprehension, the book includes a wealth of self-test questions (with hints and answers). On the one hand, these questions help teachers to carry out online teaching and interact with students during lectures; on the other, self-learners can use them to assess whether they have grasped the key content. Engineering geology.Index. décimale : 556.06 Pévisions et calculs hydrologiques Résumé : This second edition focuses on the application of statistical methods in the field of hydrology and hydroclimatology. Among the latest theories being used in these fields, the book introduces the theory of copulas and its applications in this context. The purpose is to develop an understanding and illustrate the usefulness of the statistical techniques with detailed theory and numerous worked out examples. Apart from this, sample scripts based on MATLAB, Python and R for some examples are also provided to assist the readers to handle real life data. Besides serving as a textbook for graduate courses on stochastic modeling in hydrology and related disciplines, the book offers a valuable resource for researchers and professionals involved in the field of hydrology and climatology Note de contenu : Summary of the book :
1. Introduction
2. Basic concepts of probability and statistics
3. Basic statistical properties of Data
4. Probability distributions and their applications
5. Frequency analysis, risk and uncertainty in hydroclimatic analysis
