Résumé : |
This book is a first course in classical electric and magnetic theory. In such a cours there must be a compromise betwenn the need to present the phenomena of electricity and magnetisme and the desire to develop and display the remarkable unity of the theory, at the level of the student's experience. Her compromise has been mad on the basis of experienc with second-year students in physics, engineering, and chemistry courses at the Massachusetts institu of technology and at the university of California. |
Note de contenu : |
Au sommaire :
- Electric charge , coulomb's law of electrostatic forces
- The electric field
- The electric potential
- Capacitance
- Dielectrics
- Current and circuits
- The physics of conductivity
- The magnetic field
- Induced electromative force, emf
