| Résumé : | Agricultural drainage system is planned to remove excess water from the crop land, whether coming through irrigation system, rainfall or runoff, before it creates waterlogging or high salinity condition. The field and laboratory manual on “Agricultural drainage engineering” is prepared as per Fourth Deans'comm-ittee of ICAR for students of B. Tech. (Agril. Engg.). The manual is expressing the topics in simple language with the objective of giving insights of practical aspects. The manual deals with the practical aspects of drainage investigation, design of surface and subsurface drainage systems, installation of drainage system, fabrication and testing of tiles, gypsum requirement, design of envelope, cost estimation, maintenance, etc. It also deals with practical application of agricu-ltural drainage engineering like measurement of hydraulic conductivity in field and in laboratory, preparation of iso-bath and isobar maps, installation of piezo-meters and observation wells, design and installation of drainages systems, etc. |
