| Résumé : | The papers comprising the book were presented at a conference held in london in december 1983, and represent current activity in range of applications of Einstein's theory, these include the theory of gravitational radiation and a proof that periodic isolated systems radiate; the "cosmic censorphip' hypothesis that singularities form only inside black holes; the present understanding of axisymmetric rotating fluid masses; and the asymptotic properties of space-time- all of which are of consideralbe astrophysical importance. Some of the subjects reviewed, such as the use of numerical and symbolic computing methods, and of concepts from the modern theory of chaotic behaviour in dynamical systems, involve techniques and results that are of wide application. |
