Résumé : |
In this edition we have added problems at the end of each chapter corresponding to the new and rewritten section. The problems fall generally into four categories : Simple proofs of topics considered in the text. Algebric manioulations and derivations, which would not add materially to the understanding of the student if included in the text, but which may nevertheless be instructuive. Computional problems. Proofs and derivations of results which are an extension of the subject matter in the text. |
Note de contenu : |
Au sommaire :
- Introduction and preliminaires
- Approximation and algorithms
- Interpolation
- Numerical differtiation, numerical quadrature, and summation
- The numerical solution of ordinary differential equations
- Functioal approximation : least-squares techniques
- Functional approximation: minimum maximum error techniques
- The solution of nonlinear equations
