It starts with a description of the origins of today's microcomputers before going on to cover the fundamental elements of microcomputer, the manufacturing process and semiconductor technologies. From the various types of ship the subject is developed trough boards to systems. account of the various peripherals commonly associated with microcomputers are then given before the subject of interconnecting microcomputers and subsystems via buses and local area networks. The important topic of software is covered in a section which includes chapters on machine and assembly languages, high-level languages and oparating systems. |
