This book is devoted to fundamental material laws - elasticity and plasticity. While there exists a number of books concerning either elasticity or plasticity, the authors of this book cover both aspects, finite elasticity as well as finite plasticity. The one is not understandable without a profound insight into the other.
Emphasis is given to the physical theory of large deformation theory of plasticity and elasticity. The authors include a number of examples and solved problems which will be of special interest to engineers and researchers from industrial practice. Although the text is theoretical physics with a mathematical background, it is clearly written and pedagogically edited. The text is on advanced level for young scientists and researchers or engineers who want to become familiar with the theory and need it for their everyday work.
