Titre : Biopolymers from renewable resources Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : David Kaplan, Editeur scientifique Editeur : Berlin : Springer Année de publication : 1998 Collection : Macromolecular systems - materials approach Importance : XVIII-417 p. Présentation : ill. Format : 24 cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-540-63567-3 Note générale : Bibliogr. Index Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Polymères -- Biotechnologie Index. décimale : 678.7 Produits synthétiques de polymérisation. Polymérisats. Caoutchoucs
synthétiques.Résumé : The beneficial aspects of utilizing polymers from renewable resources, when considering synthesis, processing, disposal, and overall material lifecycle issues, suggests that this will continue to be an important and growing area of interest. The focus on greener chemistries in industry can be in part satisfied by exploring the range of polymers available from Nature. The information for each type of polymer includes aspects of synthesis, processing and properties. The wide range of polymers and their properties, including polyamides, polysaccharides, polyesters and polyphenols, among others, illustrates this diversity of materials. The reader will have a single volume which provides a resource from which to gain initial insights into this diverse field and from which key references and contacts can be drawn. Note de contenu :
Introduction to biopolymers from renewable resources
Strach : properties and materials applications
Polysaccharides - cellulose
Polysaccharides : chitin and chitosan : chemistry and technology of their use as structural materials
Alginates
Soy protein as biopolymer
Protein-based materials
Bacterial y-poly(glumatic acid)
Polyhydroxyalkanoates
Surfactants and fatty acids : plant oils
Surface active polymers from the genus acinetobacter

This software allows the development of better products that maximise the advantages the die cast process has to offer. Casting: An Analytical Approach will refresh knowledge of the governing laws of the fluid dynamics that have an effect on die cast die and die cast process design.
