This textbook uses Maxwell's equations as the central theme. These equations are developed from the historical approach in which the relevant experimental laws are gradually introduced and manipulated with the help of a steadily increasing knoxledge of vector calculus. The problems in this edition are all new, except for four or five well-used problems that supply missing steps in the theory. A few other problems that are favorites of the author have been thinly disguised and used again. There are also about 40 more problems in this edition than in any previous edition. |
