Résumé : |
The pupose of this book is to apply the quantum theory of fields to the lows of conservation associated with continous and discrete symmetries. Tow types of space are considered simultaneously, firstly the space in which the relevant transformation is defined, for example space-time or an internal space of symmetries, and secondly the space in which the dield operators act, which is known as the hilbert space of physical states tow types of conservation laws will be encountered :
Exact conservation laws, which result from an exaxt symmetry of the total lagrangian and are hence of general applicability. Approximate conservation laws, resulting from the fact that only a part of the total lagrangian has an exact symmetry. These law are applicable to a particular type of introduction. |
Note de contenu : |
Summary :
1. Lagrangian formalism.
2. Canonical commutation laws.
3. The poincaré group.
4. Continous transformations.
5. Space reflection.
6. Conjugations.
7. Time relection.
8. Total reflection. |
