The book offers an exposition of the fundamentals of classical thermodynamics, the theory of chemical equilibrium, the elements of statistical thermodynamics and nonequilibrium (irreversible) thermodynamics. It contains information concerning the thermodynamics of solutions and the equilibrium in complex heterogeneous systems.
The applications of the first law of thermodynamics to multicomponenet chemical systems to multicomponent chemical systems are described and the relationship is traced between thermodynamics and other branches of physical thermodynamics. Much attention is devoted to statistical methodes of calculation of thermodynamic functions and equilibrium constants. |
