Although the seeds of modern sedimentology were sown some time ago, the events that have taken place during the last two decades have led to astonishing progress. This book reflects some, of the important developments which have occurred during this time: sediment transport, volcanilastic facies, diagenetic fabrics and processes, petrography and chemistry of pore-filling cements in clastic rocks, and the role which sedimentology has played in the search for oil in the north Sea. |
