Influence of surface traitement on various tupes of stainless steels corrosion / J.-Ph. Berge (1966)
Titre : Influence of surface traitement on various tupes of stainless steels corrosion Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : J.-Ph. Berge, Auteur ; European Atomic Energy Cmmunity-Euratom, Éditeur scientifique Editeur : Euratom Année de publication : 1966 Importance : 15 p. Format : 30 cm Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Mécanique. Stainless steels . Corrosion . Index. décimale : 621.794 Traitement et finissage chimique superficiels Résumé :
The préparation of a surface frequently has a considerable influence on its subsequent corrosion behavior. it ia accordingly necessary to arrive at the best possible definition of the surface state for all corrosion test. The distinction made by P.A Jacquet between the three surface stat characteristics is : geometrical characteristics, chemical characteristics. They may be characterized by an electrochemical method involving the coulometric reduction of this oxide layer in sulphuric acid. Physical or structural characteristics: the superficial cold-work may be assessed by metallographical techniques on sections and enlargement of the X-ray diffraction lines. Chemical reactions : pitting corrosion in ferric chloride is greatly influenced by the surface roughness. The effect of initial passivation is very marked in all corrosive media which are not themselves passivatingNote de contenu : Au sommaire :
- Méthods employed to determine surface state characteristics
* Microgeometry or roughness
* Physical or structural characteristics
* Chemical characteristics
- Surface stat and corrosion in stainless steels
* Roughness
* Pitting corrosion in frric chloride
* Chemical state
* Structural stateInfluence of surface traitement on various tupes of stainless steels corrosion [texte imprimé] / J.-Ph. Berge, Auteur ; European Atomic Energy Cmmunity-Euratom, Éditeur scientifique . - Euratom, 1966 . - 15 p. ; 30 cm.
