Uses a systematic approach integrating the environmental protection, technical, economic and social issues underlying the siting process and examines their influence upon information requirements as well as the choice of appropriate methodologies of assessment. The first section places the environmental assessment process within the context of relevant regulations and the waste management system. Section two considers the need for facilities and alternative disposal and treatment options. Section three concentrates on the environmental impact study and details important issues in waste facility siting. Lastly, it highlights some key management issues. |
