Although lightning protection has been practiced for more than 200 years, an exact numerical expression of protective effects has never been available. This is the first book to demonstrate the design of lightning protection equipment using numerical data of risk failure. Presents both theory and calculation methods for use in estimating the efficiency of lightning protection systems. It also serves as a guide for production of computer programs. Graphs and tables provide numerical data of the expected risk of shielding failures which can be used in design of lightning protection for transmission lines, high voltage overhead stations, buidings and other structures. |
